About Me:
I am a Specialist Speech and Language Therapist working with children and their families and I am passionate about my work, both within the NHS and private sector. I studied Speech and Language Pathology at Strathclyde University from 2010-2014 and started working in the NHS in August 2014. With over 10 years experience, I enjoy working in partnership with parents/carers in order to provide them with advice and strategies so that they can support their children at home. I use a neuro-affirming and child-centred approach in order to recognise each child’s individual strengths and identify appropriate strategies to meet their needs. As a community Speech and Language Therapist, I work with children who have a wide range of speech, language and communication difficulties or differences, and I have a particular interest in Early Years work - supporting families of young children to develop early communication and play skills. I have completed numerous formal training courses, including the Hanen More Than Words ® Parent Program. When I am not working, I am usually running around after my three children.
I have a teenager, a toddler and a baby so life is always very busy, chaotic and lots of fun!I love taking the children out for adventures, spending time with partner and going out with my friends.

In my spare time, you’ll find me walking my dog with my husband up hills or vaxing the couch after the dog jumps up with her muddy paws! I love spending time playing with my 3 nephews. I also love reading crime novels or sitting down with a cuppa for the latest Netflix documentary.

About Me:
I studied Speech and Language Pathology at Strathclyde University from 2011-2015 when I couldn't decide between going to study Medicine or Teaching. I'm so thankful I chose to become a SLT, and I haven't looked back since! I began working in NHS Lothian from 2015 and now work as a Highly Specialist SLT in supporting children with Developmental Language Disorder. I also specialise in Speech Sound Disorders, Stammering and collaborating with education staff to support the speech, language and communication development of all children.
I work in the community with children who have a wide range of difficulties or differences, and I love working with families to ensure the best outcomes are achieved for their child.
In my spare time, I love socialising with others (especially if there is good food involved!); getting lost in a good book; watching the latest superhero/fantasy films; and going out for a nice long run.
